Come celebrate Bullroarer Took day with us! On March 17th we’ll begin accepting screen shots from all over Middle-earth honouring the mighty Bullroarer Took!
For those who don’t know their Shire History, Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took led the Hobbits at the Battle of Greenfields when Orcs from Mount Gram, led by their Chieftain, Golfimbul, invaded the Northfarthing. During the battle, Bandobras defeated Golfimbul with a mighty blow that knocked off his head. Golfimbul's head flew through the air for 100 yards and dropped down a rabbit hole. Thus, according to Shire legend, inventing the game of Golf!
You can gain your own measure of fame by participating in our Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot Contest. Anyway, instead of the standard MMOG exclamation mark this game uses a flaming ring as the symbol for "This bloke has a quest for you, why don't you chat him up?" Not just any ring, but the icon is obviously The One Ring. The single most evil object in the history of the entire world. This is like using a pentagram containing a flaming swastika made of horned skulls as the universal symbol for "help wanted."

“…Volume I: The Shadows of Angmar™ was born with a story that takes players on an incredible journey from their humble beginnings all the way to the apex of black iron castle of Carn Dûm, where they fight against a most unlikely character. This is the player’s story: the story of how a small group, or even one person, can make a difference in times that grow dimmer, darker, and bereft of Hope. Until now, the Epic storyline has been just outside the reach of some players, but that will change with the launch of Volume III, Book 1: Oath of the Rangers.” Read more about the Revised Edition of Volume I (http://community.lotro-europe.com/news.php?id=10484&type=Dev Diaries) in the latest Developer Diary from Allan "Orion" Maki!
